1976, Dr. Don Gerson began his radiological career in Ft.
Myers with Smith, Hendra, and Gerson, M.D., P.A. In 1997, Dr. Don helped to form Lee Radiology Physicians
Group, today known as Florida Radiology Consultants, P.A. Dr. Gerson is the CEO of our group. |

Dr.
Don received his medical degree from Harvard Medical
School, graduating at the top of his class.
He completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology
at Peter Bent Brigham Hospital in Boston, MA, and in 1966,
Dr. Don completed his fellowship in GI Radiology at
Harvard Medical School. |

Dr. Don is
a member of the American College of Radiology, the
Radiological Society of North America, and the Society of
Breast Imaging. He
is board-certified by the American Board of Radiology. |

Dr.
Joseph Tienstra became affiliated with Florida Radiology
Consultants, P.A., in 1985, when he joined Smith, Hendra,
and Gerson, M.D., P.A.
Receiving his medical degree from the University of
South Florida in Tampa in 1980, Dr. Tienstra went on to
complete his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the
Aultman Hospital in Canton, OH.
In 1985, he completed a fellowship in Abdominal
Imaging and Mammography at the Shands Hospital in
Gainesville, FL. |

Radiology in 1984, and is a member of the American College
of Radiology, American Medical Association, Florida

James S. Walters,
M.D. |
|
|
Dr.
James Walters is an original member of the Smith, Hendra,
and Gerson, M.D., P.A. group, joining in 1984.
Having earned his medical degree from the
University of Alabama School of Medicine, Dr. Walters went
on to complete his residency in Diagnostic Imaging at the
University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, KY.
In 1984, he earned his fellowship in CT/US from the
University of Kentucky Medical Center as well. |

Radiology, and is a member of the American College of
Radiology, Radiological Society of North America, American

Richard J. Pry,

In
1988, Dr. Richard Pry joined Smith, Hendra, Gerson, M.D.,
P.A., and has been a member of our group since then. Dr. Pry received his medical degree from the University of
Utah College of Medicine in Salt Lake City, UT.
He went on to complete his residency in Diagnostic
Imaging at Michigan State University in East Lansing, MI.
In 1988, Dr. Pry completed his fellowship in
Vascular and Interventional Radiology at the University of
Florida in Gainesville. |

Pry holds memberships in the American College of

Society of Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology,

Dr.
Thomas Presbrey has been affiliated with Florida Radiology
Consultants, P.A. since 1989 when he joined Smith, Hendra,
Gerson, M.D., P.A. A
graduate of Rush Medical College in Chicago, IL, Dr.
Presbrey completed his residency in Diagnostic Imaging at
the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN.
He completed his fellowship in 1989 in
Neuroradiology at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center
as well. |

In
1991, Dr. John Howard joined the group that later became
known as Florida Radiology Consultants, P.A.
Earning his medical degree in 1985 from the
University of Miami, Dr. Howard went on to complete his
residency in Diagnostic Imaging at Baylor College of
Medicine and Affiliated Hospitals in Houston, TX., and
in 1991, Dr. Howard completed his fellowship in
Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology at the
Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia,
PA.
Always having an interest in business, in 1997, Dr.
Howard earned his M.B.A. from the University of South
Florida in Tampa. |

1994, Dr. Geoffrey Negin joined Smith, Hendra, and Gerson,

graduate of the University of Miami School of Medicine,
Dr. Negin earned his medical degree in 1989.
He completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology
at the University of South Florida College of Medicine in
Tampa. In
1994, he completed his fellowship in MRI and
Neuroradiology at the University of South Florida College
of Medicine as well. |

member of our group since 1994, Dr. Michael Weiss is a
graduate of the Medical College of Pennsylvania in
Philadelphia, PA. He

Hahnemann University Hospital, also located in
Philadelphia. In
1994, he completed his fellowship in Pediatric Diagnostic
Imaging and Intervention at Philadelphia’s St.
Christopher’s Hospital for Children. |

Dr. Mai Saif joined our group in 1994. She received her medical degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin, Ireland. From 1984 - 1993, Dr. Saif completed several residencies in: Pediatrics, Neonatology, Pediatric Cardiology, Medicine, and Diagnostic Radiology. She completed two residencies in Diagnostic Radiology from the University of Alabama in Birmingham, AL, and the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Also at the University of Alabama, Dr. Saif completed her fellowship in Body Imaging in 1994. |

March of 2001, Dr. Steve Merandi became a member of our
group. Having
earned his medical degree from the University of Florida
in Gainesville, Dr. Merandi went on to complete his
residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of
South Florida in Tampa. |

Merandi is a member of the Radiological Society of North
America, the American Roentgen Ray Society, the American
College of Radiology, the Society of Breast Imaging, and
the American Medical Association.

Dr.
Greg Michaels came to our group in 2001 from a private
practice in Southern California.
He is a 1986 graduate of the University of Southern
California School of Medicine.
He completed his four year residency in Diagnostic
Radiology at the University of California, Irvine.
He is board certified with the American Board of
Radiology. |

Dr.
Michaels completed a fellowship in Interventional
Radiology & Musculoskeletal MRI at the UCLA affiliated
St. Mary’s Medical Center.
He later achieved a Certificate of Added
Qualification in Cardiovascular and Interventional

Dr.
Michael Carlino became affiliated with our group in April
2002. He
earned his medical degree from the University of Miami in
Coral Gables, FL. Dr.
Carlino completed his residency at the Brooke Army Medical
Center in Ft. Sam Houston, TX. While in the United States military, Dr. Carlino was the
Chief of Diagnostic Radiology at the Beach Pavilion
Hospital in Ft. Sam Houston, TX. |

Dr. John Rodriguez joined our group in July of 2002, after completing his fellowship. He earned his medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine. In 1997-2001, he completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology and in July 2002, he completed his fellowship in Musculoskeletal Imaging and MRI, both from the University of Miami School of Medicine. |
